Description
After riding in a procession through Skowhegan, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Senator Margaret Chase Smith, Mrs. Jane Muskie, and Governor Edmund Muskie (obscured by flag) arrived at the Skowhegan Fair Grounds and saluted the flag before giving their speeches.
During his vacation in Maine the President left Rangeley and headed through Farmington toward Skowhegan while waving to crowds lining the streets. The Governor and Senator joined the President in the brightly decorated and flag draped downtown of Skowhegan on his way to the Fair Grounds to address a large crowd awaiting his arrival.
