Description
This bucolic 1914 residential scene from the top of Lubec hill looks north down towards the water of Lubec Channel, also known as Lubec Narrows. The ill-defined distant horizon would be Campobello Island. A hundred years later the address number of the steps on the right would be 36 or 38 Main Street. This used post card, cancelled September 1917, lacks publisher identification but does bear a printed legend, “D. A. Gillis & Co., The Rexall Store, Lubec, Me.“
