Description
The Mowry building in Lubec around 1910, bearing a large sign reading Swift’s Pride Soap. The fountain in the center is a round horse watering trough. In later decades Lubec citizens planted flowers in the trough during the summer months. As of 2010 this cast-iron trough still exists and is on display at the Peacock Fire Museum. The Mowry building remains in use as well.
