Description
This telephone booth is constructed of wood, with glass panels and pressed metal interior. There is a shelf in the corner to hold the telephone. A cream colored ceremic lght fixture is in the back right corner. Two paper signs, one framed, one taped to the interior, advertise long distance.
Inscription on metal tag over the door "Western Electric"
Inscription on metal tag on door " Patented Feb. 11th 1919 Turner Armour Corporation Brooklyn, N.Y. Distributors Western Electric Company Incorporated"
This telephone booth was installed in the F.S. Pendleton Store and was one of the first public telephones on the island.
