Description
Maine Representative Clifford McIntire on the floor of the Cow Palace in San Francisco during the 1964 Republican National Convention.
McIntire, who supported Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith for President, was part of a floor demonstration for Smith, the first woman to be nominated at a major party national convention.
McIntire in 1964 was a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat won by Democrat Edmund Muskie.
