Description
A full length red wool coat, with full sleeves and a short standing velvet collar evoking a collarless effect. Decorative applied silk cord scrolls, also known as soutache, appear at the front yoke, across the back shoulders, and at the cuffs. Three silk covered buttons with a crocheted lace overlay compliment the scroll-work. The inside of the coat is fully lined in cream silk, with lace finished edges. The coat is associated with Mary A. (King) Scrimgeour of Lewiston.
