Description
Illinois delegates to the National Federation for Business and Professional Women's Clubs Convention (NFBPWC) enjoyed a lobster at a clambake during their week long convention in Portland from July 12th through July 18th, 1925. Many delegates were eager to enjoy the local cuisine, with one impatient attendee from Minneapolis ordering her first lobster at breakfast, 45 minutes after pulling into the Portland train station. Also, according to this same front page article in the July 11th Portland Evening Express, Miss Adelia Pritchard of Portland, Oregon, President of BPWC, embellished the breakfast experience by "starting off her meal with a doughnut as a compliment to her Maine hostesses."
