Description
Ginger, sugar, lemons, water, and baker's yeast comprise this recipe for fermented ginger beer. This process yields a ginger beer with approximately a 10% alcohol content, making it slightly more potent than today's average beer. Unlike many modern ginger beers, which are considered soft drinks with no alcoholic content, this recipe produced an alcoholic beverage.
