Description
This is the front entrance to St. Joseph Hospital at 297 Center Street in Bangor with a nurse from the hospital in the foreground.
St. Joseph Hospital was originally the Paine Hospital until 1947 when the Felician Sisters bought it and took over operations. The Paine Hospital was a private hospital founded by Ellen F. Paine, RN in 1906.
In 2015, St. Joseph hospital is one of the two largest hospitals in Bangor, and a major healthcare service center in Maine.
