Contributed by Maine Historical Society

Description

W. B. Adams, a musician in Co. K of the 5th Maine Infantry, wrote from Washington, D.C., to his sister in Maine, commenting that she had not mentioned the miniature of himself that he had sent.

He also said he had sent off a daguerreotype and would send her one to look at, then send on to their parents. He asked her to send him her photo as well.

Adams (1842-1922) wrote, "I do not have to work very hard lately and am fleshing up at a great rate."
