Description
Chesbury F. Lothrop of Chesterville enlisted in Company C, Maine 16th Infantry Regiment on Aug. 14, 1862 when he was 23. He enlisted as a sergeant
Chesbury was promoted to full 2nd Lieutenant in December 1863, to full 1st Lieutenant in August 1864, and to full Adjutant in December 1864.
He was mustered out on June 5, 1865 at Arlington Heights, Virginia.
He returned to Maine after the war, married and was a farmer in Chesterville.
