Mildred Thomas and Harold Sawyer, ca. 1910

Contributed by Farmington Public Library

Description

Handpainted and signed photograph of Harold Sawyer and Mildred Thomas. Harold was the son of Charles Sawyer who had a studio in Farmington from 1904-1920. His handpainted photographs were very popular. This photo is unusual as most of his pictures were landscapes, and very rarely included people. Sawyer gave the photograph to the Thomas family where it hung on the wall of the living room for many years. It was later given to the Farmington Library by Mildred Thomas, a very generous donor to the library.
