Contributed by Dixfield Historical Society

Description

Pharmacist Guy O. Gardner is shown here passing ownership of Dixfield Drug Store to new owner Edgar N. Bujold on Jan. 5, 1953. James P. Johnson founded the drug store on Main Street in the 1890s, and Guy operated the business for forty-seven years. Edgar Bujold moved the business to the Harding Building, still on Main St., and ran Dixfield Drug from 1953-1968. The business was then sold to Arthur Orino and then to John Bartash, both from Rumford. Dixfield has not had a drug store since 1985.
