Letter from William Heath to Ellen Forbes, ca. 1862

Description

William Heath of Lancaster, New Hampshire, wrote to Ellen Forbes, a Civil War nurse, about a letter she had written to the family about at least one soldier and wounds he had received.

Heath commented on his sadness at hearing that the wound was so dangerous. He said he would contact the soldier's family in Milan, New Hampshire.

Forbes, of Paris, Maine, was working at a Washington, D.C., hospital.
