Monson Railroad Snow Cut, 1898

Contributed by Monson Historical Society

The train engine, with an attached passenger car, is making a snow cut one mile south of Monson. The snow can be seen to be at least half as deep as the train itself. At this time the snowplow on the engine would have been a small attachment, which meant slow going. The man standing on the train is unidentified.
