Description
Warren's Market, 34 Main Street in Bridgton.
This tax record refers to a commercial property located at 34 Main Street in Bridgton. The property was used as a grocery store owned by Rue L. Warren at the time of this survey, ca. 1938. The record was updated at a later time to reflect ownership by Grace E. Warren, his wife. There is also the word "heirs," hand-written and crossed out. It is not clear whether this refers to Grace or Rue. Posters for two of Bridgton's movie theaters, the State Theatre and the Mayfair, hang on the side door. The card also references a deed dated 1932; this is not the date of the photograph. The current address of this building, greatly altered but with a façade that is still recognizable from this 1930s photograph, is 100 Main St. (2016).
