Description
This image is of an Elliott hand cranked addressing machine probably from the 1920s.
Sterling Elliott developed the Elliott Hand Cranked Address Machine in the 1920s. They sold for $35 at that time. This machine was designed for lodge secretaries and firms who have small mailing lists. It printed addresses as nicely as the larger addressing machine, but it is was not as fast. The form to be addressed was inserted with the left hand, then one turn of the hand crank, prints the address and moves the address cards along and automatically ejects the addressed envelope.
