Scorecard and ribbons from hand engine muster, Topsham Bicentennial, 1964

Description

This scorecard lists all the hand engines in the firemen's muster at the Topsham Fair Grounds during the celebration of the town's bicentennial on July 18, 1964. The celebration included the largest parade in the state of Maine up to that time and had a fire muster, sponsored by the Androscoggin Veteran Firemen's Association and the Topsham Fire Department, with 17 engines. The scorecard was displayed with these two participant ribbons for the muster.

Fire departments named their hand engines. The names of the hand engines on this scorecard are listed as follows:

Class A: Niagara, Protection, Fountain, Neptune, Gen. Bates, Gen. Barry, Oko's (Okomakamesit), Edward R. Lay
Class B: Gerry, Hancock, Tiger, Quansigamog, Union, D. A. Taggart, Androscoggin, Torrent, Tempest
