Description

The postcard shows a path along the Eastern Promenade going northwest toward Casco Bay, in Portland.

The Olmstead Brothers designed the park, and its construction began in 1836. Until 1934 the park was continuously developed. The park includes a paved trail, a basketball court, tennis courts, and a baseball field.

The park offers an expansive view of the Casco Bay and the promenade loops around Munjoy Hill.
