Description

The Painchaud Band was made up of many local musicians in Biddeford. They often competed against other bands at concerts throughout New England and Canada, winning many trophies and Ribibons. The band was formed in 1870 by Pierre Painchaud. After the death of Mr. Painchaud, in 1909, Joseph Martin took over as the Band Director.

First row from left are A. Neveau, W. Janelle, N. Normand, Joseph H. Martin, j. Morin, A. Boucher and J. Varrier.

The second row from left are W. Libby, H. A. Milikin, P. Langevin, L. Piche, G.H. Reny, W. Gaudette, I. Gendron, and F. Bolduc.

The third row, from left are L. Binette, A. Lambert, E. Brousseau, A. Girouard, A. Plante, A. Paquin, and E. millette.

Lastly, the fourth row from left are S. Simensky, J. Scott, J. Binette, R. Chasse, Drum Major, E. Perreault, a. Henri, and V. B. McLaughlin.
