Wiscasset Boy Scout circus, 1970

Description

Reddy Kilowatt, the symbol of electric power, visited a Wiscasset Boy Scout circus in 1970. Central Maine Power Co. employees dressed in the "Reddy" costume to help promote CMP and the use of power.

The event was part of the sesquicentennial of Maine statehood.

Wiscasset was the home of Maine Yankee nuclear power plant, which went online in 1972.
