Picture of Fritz Johnson with a dog in front of the Swan's Island quarry.

Johnson was a stone cutter for the Swan's Island Quarry, where he was reported to be the fastest paving stone cutter. He was born on March 24, 1899 in Sweden. As a young man Johnson moved to Swan's Island to work at the quarry, and married Evelyn Lora Martin in 1922. He died on March 7, 1985.
