67th General Hospital War Unit, Portland, 1942

Photograph of the officers of the 67th General Hospital War Unit: Maine Division, outside the main entrance to Maine General Hospital. Approximately 35 women officers from the MGH nursing ranks were part of the 67th. Identification of the officers is left to right front row, beginning with the first name on the list.

The unit, under the command of Lt. Col. Roland Moore, M.D., trained at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas, before being shipped to a hospital in Taunton, England, during WWII.

Maine General Hospital is a predecessor of Maine Medical Center.
