This image shows some members of the class of 1896 of the Maine General Hospital Training School for Nurses. There were fourteen young women who graduated that year. Each student was eligible to graduate upon completion of the program requirements.

Only one of the students, Lenora Turner, class of 1896 (back, far left) is identified.

The MGH School of Nursing later became the Maine Medical Center School of Nursing, with the final class graduating in 1967.
