Description
The Eastland was conceived and built by Henry P. Rines in 1927. Rines and his wife, Adeline, were frequent travelers to Europe and the Middle East. The lobby and restaurants of the Eastland reflected their favorite locations abroad, including some in Denmark, Spain and Egypt.
The Danish Tea Room was a replica of a similar room called a Skenkstuen, in Ribe, Denmark. According to the description on the reverse of this postcard, the Rines imported many of the decorative pieces in the room from Ribe.
