Description

The Casco Bay Lines steamer Emita ran between the islands in Casco Bay and the mainland of Portland from about 1900 until the early 1950s.

The caption reads, "Steamer Emita at Forest City Landing, Peaks Island, Maine." This postcard was part of the Maine vacation series of postcards printed by the Tichnor Brothers printing company, which were printed from about 1930 -1945 and were meant to bolster Maine's tourism industry.
