Contributed by Lubec Historical Society

Description

Dr. Eben Bennet, legendary Lubec physician for almost 60 years from 1876, practiced in this small building a block down the hill from his Main Street residence. The brick Lubec Bank & Trust partially visible was built about 1908. Both these buildings stand, vacant, as of 2012. Dr. Bennet’s safe remains in place. The Merchant’s Hotel rising in the background was taken down before the end of the 20th century.
