Forest Paper Company's success came through the hard work and dedication of many men, but the contributions made by F.E. Gore and G.W. Hammond were unprecedented. Hammond, who helped spearhead the company quickly commited himself to the thriving business. His efforts helped F.P.C. succeed as he personally insisted on constant improvements to the mill. During his years at F.P.C. nearly four improvements per year were made, turning the mill from a small town employer to a world class establishment. F.E. Gore also made personal sacrifices for the company, starting as a chemist in 1881, he soon found himself as the manager of Forest Paper. It was said that his ability and energy won merited approval among many and his sheer force of character and intelligence brought him to his high position.
