Charles Bridges surgeon's certificate, Port Hudson, LA, 1863

Description

George G. Percival, assistant surgeon of the 3rd United States Volunteers, Ullmann's Brigade, certified that Charles Bridges, 1st Lieutenant of Co. H, suffered from chronic diarrhea that had "rendered him unfit for service for the last seven weeks." The certificate is also signed by E.H. May, medical director of Ullmann's Brigade.

Bridges requested the certificate to support his resignation.
