Description
A Tichnor Brothers publicity postcard of Cuba Island in Lake Cobbosseecontee from the late 1930s.
The caption reads, "Cuba Island, Lake Cobbosseecontee, Maine."
The Tichnor Brothers, a Boston printing firm, manufactured many similar postcards from about 1930-1945. These postcards were aimed at tourists who, thanks to the proliferation of automobiles and the building of the Maine Turnpike, could now travel more frequently and with greater ease.
