Description

Harvesting seaweed along the coast of Maine is done for a few reasons. Seaweed is used as fertilizer and also chemicals are extracted from seaweed to use as emulsifiers in foods.

This etching can be found on page 195 of 'The Pine-tree Coast' by Samuel Adams Drake, Boston, Estes and Laurent, 1891.
