Contributed by Fryeburg Historical Society

Description

Paul Paddelford designed this bridge in 1843 to cross the Saco River close under Pine Hill in Fryeburg.

It was originally 250 feet long and was extended another 24 feet in 1874.

The bridge was named after Edward Weston whose land the structure encompassed. In 1947 the present bridge was constructed and the covered bridge, which was in disrepair, was removed.
