Members of the executive committee of the National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Portland in 1929 pose in front of the Bosworth Post of the GAR on Free Street in Portland.

The Bosworth Post was made up of veterans of the GAR, the Union Army of the American Civil War, 1861-1865.

In the back row, from left, are R.L. Whitcomb, Geo. L. Conant, W.W. Jewett, Erv Merrill, Henry Fowle, secretary and treasurer; Chas. E. West, E.J. Platts and F.H. Berry.

In the front, from left, are Waldo H. Perry, R.H. Greenwood, chairman; E.E. Nason, assistant adjutant general of the Department of Maine GAR; John Reese, commander-in-chief of the GAR; Judge Willett, judge advocate general of the GAR; E.E. Chilbrook, vice chairman; and C.W. Durgin.
