The Hallowell Steam and Boom Co. was a logging company established on March 29, 1836. Logs were floated down the Kennebec River from as far away as the Moosehead Lake region to sorting booms, including the Hallowell Steam and Boom Co. Identified in the photograph are Charles Grady (Left of doorway), Sammy Suds (in doorway), "Bozo" Inman (front left), and Warren Sawyer (front center).
