Description

For over 50 years the sandpaper mill in Hallowell was one of the area's principle businesses. It was here where quartz was crushed to the point where it was usable in sandpaper. This photo shows five workers around 1920. Pictured are Bert Grimes, Arthur Rich, Frank Butler, Bert Blair and Bill Overlock.
