Deering Mansion, Portland, ca. 1900

Description

James Deering built the house in 1804 near the site of Anthony Brackett's farm.

The building was razed in the late 1950s. The site is now Luther Bonney Hall at the University of Southern Maine. Bedford Street runs along the right hand side of the photograph.
