Description

Ira Berry (1801-1891) was an author and editor of the Norway Advertiser from 1844-1850.

He was the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of Maine for 50 years. The Ira Berry Lodge No. 187 Free and Accepted Masons in Blue Hill was named for him.

He wrote, Sketch of the History of the Beethoven Musical Society of Portland, 1819-1825 and "The Canonization of Santa Claus, 1870."
