Description
W.H. Hobbs writes from Bangor to Persis Blanchard of Cumberland about his job as a teacher at Bryant, Stratton, Gray & Lakin's Bangor Business College.
Hobbs notes that he spent the summer at "the fashionable watering place of Wells," and then went to Boston for work. He contracted typhoid fever and, when recovered, took the job in Bangor, teaching accounting at the newly opened business school.
Blanchard apparently met him at the Portland business college, which she attended.
