Description

The Carlton Bridge across the Kennebec River between Bath and Woolwich was completed in 425 days, cost $3,000,000 and opened on November 15, 1927.

It was built with two decks, the lower for a single railroad track for the Maine Central Railroad, and the upper deck with a roadway for cars and trucks and two sidewalks.
