Description

Chaplain Gordon poses with the "Flying Torah" and an unidentified pilot in front of an OA-10 aircraft, demonstrating how the Torah was boxed and transported.

A loan from the Beth Israel Synagogue in Bangor, the "Flying Torah" traveled with Captain Harold H. Gordon, Jewish chaplain for the North Atlantic Division, Air Transport Command.
