Description
This building at the upper end of Lubec’s Water Street housed many restaurants under various proprietors over the decades. Earlier in the 20th Century known as the Foggy Dew, this photograph shows Tip’s, also known as Tippy’s, at Water and Commercial Streets with its commanding view over the Lubec wharf and boat landing area toward Johnson Bay. Obviously closed for the winter in this photograph, Dudley, Treat, and Pope’s Folly islands are readily visible in the bay. With added stories, the building became the Lighthouse Inn during the early 21st Cenury, functioning as Cohill’s Inn as of 2010.
