Hot tar on Water Street, Lubec, ca. 1975

Description

Road maintenance is taking place on Water Street. Signs identify the Wharf Shop offering “Maine Crafts,” and beyond, the B & C Grocery, at another period Conley Grocery. This building still stands as of 2010. The light-colored stand-alone building farther down is Roland Cheney’s Barber Shop. Beyond the farthest right utility pole is the Dodge Department Store.
