Josiah Pierce Moscow Railway job, Russia, 1858

Josiah Pierce, a native of Gorham, wrote to his father describing the Moscow Railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg and his job with the American company that managed the railway. The firm was responsible for the locomotive and rail cars.

The Russian government owned the railway. Pierce was in charge of the company's correspondence, mostly with the government.
