Description

The District No. 6 Dunn School in which Bertie Rankin taught was built on property bought from Charles Dunn on Hallowell Road in 1884. This one room schoolhouse replaced a ca. 1805 schoolhouse located closer to Crockett's Corner, another small East North Yarmouth settlement about a half-mile further north on Hallowell Road. A second attached card gave the names of Miss Rankin's pupils: Bertha Fitz, Ida Paine, Elsa Evans, Maggie Winslow, Ernest Phipps, Lewis Fuller, John Mitchel, Howard Winslow, Mabel Doyle, Edith Evans, Ruby Phipps, Myra Davis, Jennie Evans, Gertrude Kimball, Herbert Davis, Clarence Kimball, George Davis, Flarence Staples.
