Description
A poster in support of a referendum to approve a constitutional amendment to allow Maine women to vote depicts the anti-suffrage women as "slackers" who do not want to accept the responsibility of voting.
The group opposed to woman suffrage used language similar to that in the poster, arguing that suffrage is not a "right."
The artist is William Ourcadie, pseudonym for Frederic W. Freeman.
