Description
Aggressive advertising was the norm at H. Noel Steeves' wholesale and retail establishment on Water Street in Hallowell. Small green medicine bottles embossed with "Prepared in Hallowell, Maine" are now believed to have come from Steeves' Maine Patent Medicine Warehouse. The green bottles were once thought to be a product of Dr. Clearwater's patent medicine business.
