Demolishing camps, Lubec, ca. 1960

Contributed by Lubec Historical Society

Description

Basic timber houses, most smaller than shown here, were built in large numbers to house sardine workers and other fish processing personnel in Lubec. These residences were associated with the Booth factory, formerly Lubec Sardine Company Factory B, visible as a white building on the shore near the right side of this photograph. Cobscook Bay appears in the background.

This photograph shows the demolition of one of these wooden buildings.
