Description

Daniel Fulton Ellis lived in Brunswick and started his medical practice in 1866 after graduating from Bowdoin College. He served as Librarian for the Medical School of Maine from 1871 - 1882.

During the Civil War he was the Assistant Surgeon for the 108th U.S.C.T. (U.S. Colored Troops). In 1865, he was promoted to Surgeon. Ellis was mustered out March 30, 1866. He was born December 14, 1840 in Dexter, and died September 19, 1882.
