Description

This is a mid 1950s aerial view of Guilford looking east along the Piscataquis River. The river is still frozen above the dam. The Bangor & Aroostook Railroad Station can be seen beside the tracks in the top center of the photograph. Water Street is on the left, north, side of the river. Elm Street is on the south side of the river, lower right of photo. Oak Street is also on the south side of the river, upper right of photo. The Guilford Woolen Mill, southeast side of bridge, and the Scales Building, southwest side of bridge, can be seen in the center of this photo.
