Cadet Band, North Turner, 1895

Description

North Turner Band Stand pictured here in 1895 showing the Cadet Band. The North Turner Cadet Corps was provided with the bandstand. In November of 1895 the band provided the music for the dedication of the the new Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Hall. Andrew Johnson is standing with the drum. George Merrill was the leader of the band.

The names below start front row left to right: Sewell Spencer, Eugene Thomas, Ed Parker, Forest Young, Ed Richardson, Bert Kilbreth, Andrew Johnson, Elmer Timberlake, William Morris, Uzza Thomas, Clif Starbird, Forest Humphrey, Fred Richardson, George Merrill, Harry Brown and Frank Kilbreth.
